Late this summer, fans of Denver’s mid‑century modern homes will be treated to open‑house style home tours in four of the metro area’s MCM enclaves.
Our own home tour kicks things off on September 13th, occurring in conjunction with the 10th annual Denver Modern Show. With 170 houses, Denver’s Harvey Park Neighborhood is home to the largest tract of Cliff May Homes outside of California, and the last 5 years have seen an enormous amount of restoration activity. A select group of Cliff May residents will be opening their homes to the public to share their hard work, and present to you what made…Continue

A few weeks ago I was driving down Meade Street among the Cliff May Homes, and passed by this . . . actually, not exactly this, the bedroom windows were smaller at that point (they either realized that perhaps they were too small, or building codes forced them bigger). What I witnessed was a Cliff May Home, largely architecturally intact, being torn apart before my very eyes. Much to my wife’s dismay, I exclaimed that I would have to post something about this on Facebook as soon as I got back home! What a tragedy; what a travesty, that someone…Continue

A belated greetings from Casa View Oaks, our sister tract in Dallas, Texas! Why Belated? Because I actually visited it back on New Year’s Eve, and am only just now getting you the report . . . so much for that new year’s resolution to post in a timely fashion!
But set aside your anger and irritation for my delay, as I bring you Harvey Park Modern’s continuing coverage of our sister neighborhoods around the country!…Continue

Crack open Cliff May’s book Western Ranch Houses, and among its pages you will find a design for a rambling ranch home in Kansas City, Missouri, a classic example of his sprawling custom homes, built in the posh Mission Hills neighborhood. That house, I’m sorry to report, is now gone; replaced by a beautiful Tuscan‑style McMansion that I’m sure at least somebody is fond of, even if it isn’t me . . . but all is not lost in Kansas City.…Continue

Greetings, and welcome to Harvey Park! This southwest Denver neighborhood is one of the city's best-kept secrets in affordable, quality modern houses. Home to the only Cliff May Ranches in Colorado, Harvey Park has a rich variety of mid-century modern homes from small starter homes to large custom homes on two private lakes.
For visitors, this website will help you become acquainted with our neighborhood, and perhaps even encourage you to drive on over and see what it's all about.
For residents, this website will become a resource, and a way we can come together and talk about the neighborhood, share ideas, get inspired, and even brag a little bit about the great work we've done. I encourage you to become a member of the site, share your stories and photos, and become part of the greater community.

Could someone out there shoot me some measurements for their board and batten siding? I want to get rid of the T111 siding on the front of our house and replace with B&B and eventually replace all the siding with it. Im thinking 12" on center…Continue

Painting the exterior of a brick house can be a big controversy - once it is done, there is no going back. In HP, with our plethora of brick homes it is not a common sight, but I wonder if it might become more so in the coming years. What are your…Continue

My husband and I, along with our 2 year old daughter, are looking at buying a home in the Harvey Park area. We owned a 1951 ranch in Phoenix previously and love 50's modern homes. But as we drive through the area, it is hard to get a sense of the…Continue
